Japanese pianist Yukine Kuroki emerged victorious on the finals of the Liszt Utrecht piano competitors final evening.
Kuroki was the popular selection of the jury of worldwide pianists, forward of Derek Wang (United States) and Yeon-Min Park (South Korea). All three pianists selected to carry out Franz Schubert’s Wanderer Fantasy, transcribed by Franz Liszt for piano and orchestra, in entrance of a reside viewers and a global jury. The Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Christian Reif, offered the accompaniment.
The worldwide jury included Canadian pianist Janina Fialkowska, winner of the 2013 BBC Music Journal Instrumental Award, and Georgian performer Nino Gvetadze. Different pianists on the jury included Suzana Bartal, Frederic Chiu and Michael Lewin.
In addition to a 25,000 Euro prize, Kuroki will now obtain a three-year programme {of professional} assist – together with artist administration, mentoring and the chance to go out on a global live performance tour.
