Vical ensemble The Fieri Consort are releasing their new album of music from the late Renaissance Italian composer Luca Marenzio in November, and for one of many tracks (‘O Mirtillo, Mirtillo, anima mia’) they’ve collaborated with artist Eleanor Meredith. The latter has produced an an authentic animated movie that enhances the serene music fantastically.

The Fieri Consort’s album, The Destined Knot, options renditions from Marenzio’s seventh e book of madrigals, revealed in 1595. Marenzio was one in all Italy’s many nice Renaissance composers, alongside the likes of Monteverdi and Gesualdo, each of whom characteristic in our listing of finest Italian composers. This explicit tune assortment follows the narrative of Il Pastor Fido (‘The Trustworthy Shepherd’), a tragicomedy by playwright Giovanni Battista Guarini.
