“Barz Simpson” is the primary taster of Sonnyjim and The Purist’s forthcoming album White Lady Wasted, and sees them hyperlink up with the late MF DOOM and Jay Electronica.
In accordance with a press launch, Sonnyjim recorded his verse in a single take, and when he and The Purist agreed that it sounnded like a DOOM monitor, they requested him to contribute 16 bars. MF DOOM returned the monitor a day later, and had recorded double the quantity they requested for.
White Lady Wasted has been within the works for 4 years, and also will function contributions from DJ Premier, Madlib, Lee Scott and Milkaveli.
“Barz Simpson” that includes MF DOOM and Jay Electronica is out now. Sonnyjim and The Purist’s White Lady Wasted album will arrive on 6 September via The Purist’s label Daupe!
