North Yorkshire Police stated emergency providers have been on the scene of the incident off Bentham Street, close to Burton in Lonsdale.
The pressure stated the incident occurred shortly earlier than noon and individuals are “strongly urged” to keep away from the realm.
The Air Accidents Investigation Department (AAIB) stated it has been notified of an accident involving a light-weight helicopter.
“An investigation has been launched and a crew of inspectors are travelling to the accident web site to start making enquiries,” it stated.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service attended the incident, a spokeswoman confirmed to PA, and dispatched various assets.
