Geese dragged to their deaths by thriller underwater creature within the Lake District

A person has been left traumatised after witnessing three geese dragged underwater by a mysterious creature within the Lake District.

Wayne Owens, who works on the lake in Ullswater close to Howtown, is begging folks to maintain their youngsters and canine out of the water after claiming to have seen the animals pulled to their deaths in two separate incidents on consecutive days.

Social media customers have been speculating about what could possibly be lurking underneath the water, with some suggesting a big catfish or perhaps a crocodile.

However a spokeswoman for the Lake District Nationwide Park Authority stated an investigation has uncovered nothing uncommon.

Mr Owens, 61, who repeatedly swims on the lake, stated: “I used to be on the Steamer and this gray lag goose was taken from the highest of the lake and dragged backwards and it was to not be seen once more. We saved watching and it did not come again up.

“It was full measurement perhaps 10 to 12 kilos it was flapping furiously and it could not get away from no matter had it. The following day I noticed two smaller ones get dragged underwater and my skipper witnessed this as properly.”

Mr Owens added: “It traumatised me. I would like folks to remain out of the water with their youngsters and small canine and I would really like the Lake District Nationwide Park Authority to place some indicators up warning folks that there’s something within the water.”

A spokeswoman for the Lake District Nationwide Park Authority instructed LancsLive: “We’re conscious of the alleged incidents involving geese on Ullswater. Our Lake Ranger group patrolled the world over the weekend and didn’t see something out of the atypical. The Atmosphere Company can be conscious.”

The id of the underwater creature has been speculated on by social media customers.

One wrote: “Pike are the sharks of freshwater. Many fishermen will inform you Swans, ducklings and plenty of water birds fall sufferer to them it’s nature. You may get giant Catfish too.
