£17.7 Million Awarded to Regenerate Haverfordwest


£17.7 Million Awarded to Regenerate Haverfordwest

£17.7 million from the Levelling Up Fund is being invested within the Haverfordwest venture. The funding is the second largest Levelling Up Fund award made inside Wales. The funding will help the regeneration of Haverfordwest city centre.

Haverfordwest Fortress

The fund will help enhancements to Haverfordwest’s thirteenth century fort.

These embrace:

  • upkeep work on the historic fort partitions
  • creation of an outside occasion house
  • renovation of the Victorian gaol

Haverfordwest Cultural Hall

  • A brand new footbridge over the River Cleddau will result in the city’s Western Quayside and can enhance entry to the fort.

Councillor Paul Miller, Pembrokeshire County Council’s Deputy Chief and Cupboard Member for Place, the Area and Local weather Change stated:

Supporting the regeneration of Haverfordwest has been a precedence for myself and this administration since we began, and we’ve spent a variety of years strategically buying property and creating detailed plans and enterprise circumstances to help funding.
