1995 Color – Kent Landscapes: Half 7 of my posts on my color work in 1995. Within the early months of 1995 I continued working in each Walthamstow, Chingford and different areas of North London but in addition made a lot of visits south of the river to St Mary Cray, Belvedere and elsewhere. However most of my work was in black and white, although I’ve already posted a couple of color photos on this sequence.
I took far fewer color photos and on the time stored few data of places and dates of those, counting on the annotations I made on my black and white contact sheets.
On April 1st 1995 I took the practice to Dartford, a city I had beforehand photographed and visited sometimes to go to a good friend. Dartford is simply exterior the east fringe of London in Kent and on the west fringe of an space beside the Thames which had for a few years been the house of the cement trade with enormous chalk quarries and riverside cement factories, the biggest of which was nonetheless operation within the Nineteen Nineties and which I’d photographed pretty extensively.
I made an extended stroll across the space south of Dartford, starting alongside the river that runs by the city, the Darent, however then by a few of the countryside to the south.
In addition to photographing traces of the cement trade – together with a now not working mineral conveyor which had carried chalk from a quarry to the manufacturing facility I additionally photographed the 2 main roads which have impacted on the panorama south of Dartford, the A2 Dartford By-Go and the M25 motorway.
